Aria Nova is a neighborhood pizzeria in the heart of the West Village, built around a simple idea: take the familiarity and accessibility of a New York slice shop and elevate it through better ingredients, thoughtful recipes, and a more premium approach to pizza.

Located at 190 Bleecker Street, Aria Nova was designed to feel at home in the neighborhood — casual enough to stop in for a quick slice, but distinctive enough that the food itself feels intentional. The menu balances classic New York favorites with more creative combinations, with an emphasis on quality ingredients, bold flavors, and pizzas that still feel approachable rather than overworked. Owner Jon Abusamra and his team make their mozzarella fresh daily, one of the ways they keep the quality of the pizza noticeably higher from the first bite.

The menu has evolved through a mix of experimentation and listening closely to what customers respond to. The Vodka Arrabbiata has become one of the slices that best represents Aria Nova, combining a rich vodka sauce with more heat and personality than a traditional version. Alongside it are classics like the regular and pepperoni slices, as well as Margherita and Grandma Pepperoni. The goal isn't to reinvent pizza for the sake of being different, but to take familiar styles and make them exceptionally well.

Aria Nova is Jon's second pizzeria, following Marko's, and much of the concept grew out of what he learned from operating his first shop. With Aria Nova, he wanted to push further on ingredient quality and create a more elevated product, even knowing that those choices would come with a higher price point. It gave him the opportunity to take what he'd learned operationally and apply it to a concept with a more premium, ingredient-driven point of view.

Jon's own background is in finance rather than the restaurant industry. He initially got into pizza because he saw an entrepreneurial opportunity, but building Marko's gave him a much deeper appreciation for the product, the business, and the customer experience. Aria Nova became the next step in that journey — a chance to build a pizzeria that reflects both what he learned from his first shop and where he wanted to take the concept next.
