The Story
More from Angelo's Pizza is on the way.
The road to success isn't always about building something from scratch. Sometimes it's about seeing the potential in something that already exists — giving it a fresh coat of paint, a deep clean, and a new vision. That's exactly what Larry and Inna Stepansky did. When the previous owner of Angelo's Pizza decided it was time to retire, he put the shop up for sale. Larry came across the listing while scrolling social media and knew immediately — this was it. This was his legacy. After a career spent in construction, Larry wanted something that was entirely his own. He and Inna put in an offer, and before long, they had the keys. Then came the real work. Larry and Inna rolled up their sleeves and got to it — scrubbing decades of grime off the old subway tiles until they looked brand new, laying down fresh paint, and putting up new signage to signal to the neighborhood that something had changed. Something good. To lead the kitchen, they have John Colorado @la_pizza_di_tutti — a seasoned NYC pizzaiolo with years behind the counter at Joe's Pizza — to bring classic NYC style pies and squares back to the community. But what really stands out about Larry and Inna isn't the renovation or the pedigree hire. It's the heart behind it all. Spend five minutes with them and it's clear: they want Angelo's to be their second home and the neighborhood their second family. They want to be there for the kids stopping in after school, the construction workers grabbing chicken rolls on lunch break, and the concert-goers fueling up before a show at the iconic Kings Theatre down the street.
